Two people were killed and four others seriously injured when an SUV slammed into a tree on the New Jersey Turnpike overnight, authorities said.
The crash happened at 1:06 a.m. in the northbound lanes near milepost 13.6 on Sunday, May 18, in Harrison Township, Gloucester County, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.
Troopers say 19-year-old Cesar Ivan Martinez-Adino, of Hyattsville, MD, was behind the wheel of an Acura MDX with six people inside when he lost control of the SUV. The car veered off the road, rolled down an embankment, and hit a tree.

A 2-year-old boy is lucky to be alive after falling from a 15th-floor balcony in Montgomery County, police say.
The fall happened around 2:10 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at an apartment building on Oak Leaf Drive in White Oak, according to Montgomery County Police, who are now investigating.
First responders arrived to find the toddler in the bushes below after the fall, police said.

The crash happened at 4:46 a.m. Saturday, April 26, on the inner roadway southbound at milepost 70.1 in Cranbury Township, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said.
